Having acne is not a pleasant experience. It can hamper your social skills; it diminishes your self-confidence. Bottom line is that it affects how you carry yourself when dealing with others. Pimples look awful indeed, and the first thing that pops into your mind is how to eliminate them. But as they say, prevention is the best cure. Here are a couple of simple measures, ranging from routine facial cleansing to over-the-counter anti-acne creams, to prevent pimples from coming out.

When our skin pores are blocked by dirt, dust or accumulated sebum, it may lead to inflammation. As a result, acne could break out. To avoid this, maintain a good cleansing habit by washing your face at least twice a day — once in the morning and once right before going to bed. If you're wearing cosmetics, make sure to wash them off before going to bed. Use a mild soap and gently wash your face in a circular motion. Do not scrub or rub your face; otherwise, you could get your skin irritated. Also, do not wash too often since that will dry your skin.

Eat sensibly. Healthy foods are not only good for your body but also for your face. Foods rich in zinc, beta carotene and antioxidants are great for cleansing away toxins and other pimple-causing contaminants. Avoid the oily stuff, since it tends to trigger an acne breakout.

Improve your skin's vitality by taking vitamin supplements. Vitamins C and E are good for the skin since they promote collagen production while vitamin A strengthens the skin's protective tissues.
